New Year’s Message from the Minister of Transport for the CNC Workers’ Collective

On 29 December, the Minister of Transport, Ricardo Viegas D OnAbreu, congratulated and wished for the entire collective of workers of the CNC, Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year of 2021: “Excellencies, Mr. Secretaries of State, Distinguished General Director of the National Council of Porters, Distinguished National Directors, Heads of Department and Members of the Fiscal Council, Ladies and Gentlemen, I am grateful for the invitation to be here and socialize, before we close the year 2020 and also celebrate a new moment that marks the end of the almost extincts CNC and Corridor of Lobito. The changes can be interpreted as Joseph Schumpeter would say: “The process of creative destruction is the essential fact for economic growth”; it is necessary to destroy to create the New. And this is the opportunity that is being given to the employees of the extincts CNC and Corredor of Lobito, at a time when it is necessary to realize that there is life beyond the export of oil, and it is certainly in the area of services, especially in the logistics sector. where we can make a difference at the country level and at the level of the Region. It seems clear that the marriage between cargo, cargo certification, logistics and corridors, is a link of things that complement each other. What matters as a subsequent step is to make it happen! For this to happen we need the support of everyone, the team, the commitment, the union, the selfless spirit and daily effort, because in any transformation there is a need for insistence, consistency and permanence; and believe that we will be able to create a better future, as this is the purpose that guides our daily work in the Transport sector. Coincidentally, ARCCLA as the aggregator of the CNC and the Lobito Corridor, is the first body in this major restructuring of the Transport sector. It is interesting, therefore, other bodies in the Transport sector with a relevance as great or greater as that which the CNC had, still have not managed to get there – to change. ARCCLA was the first to make such a change, without however being among the first to begin the reform. This gives ARCCLA an inheritance of commitment as pioneers of a new phase of support for the national economy. It is very important that the members of the Transport sector understand something that has been repeatedly mentioned in our forums: forums We are here to serve, not to be served; to the extent that we are not producers of a good or product to sell, we are servants for the Economy, for people and for the facilitation of what can happen in the national Economy; and this is a vision that we must internalize and bring with us daily to work to. According to the message from the General Director of the CNC, this was a challenging year, and we must give thanks for being alive and healthy, however, this period allowed us to give way to other important values in life: the value of solidarity, friendship, respect, consideration, mutual aid. I think these are values that must prevail in our minds, now and in the future. 2021 It faces many challenges, because our sector is very demanding, and everyone expects a lot from it because of its relevance in the lives of people. To conclude, we would like to thank the CNC General Director and the General Directorate as well as all CNC employees for this moment, but the truth is that we are all a team. And this proves to be the result of teamwork. We are very proud! We wish everyone that the New Year 2021 is full of achievements and successes.

Thank you so much
